Construction of Africa's $92m water projects completed

 Egyptian government has completed the construction of $92 Million drinking water project across the country.

The housing minister said they have completed the 83 drinking water and sanitation projects, along with 112 sanitation projects in various villages across the country.
The minister in charge of Housing Mostafa Madbouly added that the Construction Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater which was awarded the contract to carry out the project successfully completed the targeted eight sanitation projects in five satellite cities, with an investment cost of $92m.
Three of the greatest projects were established in the most congested city in the country Cairo and two of the projects were carried in Burg Al-Arab area in Alexandria, and one project in 6th of October City, 10th of Ramadan City and Badr City each and all have been commissioned. In addition to the projects the four drinking water projects were completed in satellite cities which costed $366m as well as other two projects in the 10th Ramadhan city and also one in obour and Burg City. According to the minister the ministry is set to carry out test for the projects so that their operation can begin within three weeks after the date set for completion. Madbouly stressed that the random, informal construction in Giza is behind the current water crisis, declaring that for the first time, sanitation and drinking water projects’ investments exceed $917m (EGP7bn) during the current fiscal year. In addition, it plans to cover the remainder of the villages within another two years to reach 100% coverage in the fifth year.
